“Nineties style isn’t.” – David Borenstein,

OK. I’m not really one for reality tv but I saw commercials for “24 Hour Catwalk” and everyone is raving about this Alexa Chung, the hostess. They say she’s the “be all to end all” of the fashion world. I have a hard time accepting this considering every clip of her she’s wearing some horrible, school marmy, wanna be 90’s outfit. I mean, UGH! Fer real??… So what do I do? I, of course, turn to the Google. I have to believe that they’re just showing her in bad outfits. This is what I find…..

My grandma wants to know when she can have her couch cover back....

I love the black top with the heart shaped dress. It's very "Sister Wives".

Daisy Duke meets Brittany Spears in "Oops I Did It Again". And unfortuantely, she does do it. Again. And again. And again.

*Gagging Noise* These outfits are horrendous. But if she can be the “Queen of Fashion” there’s nothing I can’t do!! LMAO!

“Can implementing the three R’s – reduce, recycle, reuse, save you money?
If you only implemented the three R’s in your kitchen, you would save money.”

I’m not religious…but can I get an “Amen” to that?!? I know there are some meanie “greenies” who frown upon those of us who purchase bottled water. But, to my credit, I purchased a Brita water filter and I’ve been reusing my plastic water bottles. I pay a little more for the ones with the sport bottle caps and I would reuse them for a long time. Unfortunately, after a while, they would get this ashy, cloudy look to them. It didn’t matter how hot the water was that I cleaned them with or how much dish soap. They were just icky looking. Even though I had new ones in the pantry I still felt bad about sending a perfectly good bottle off to it’s next life.  I did a little Googling about cleaning/reusing plastic water bottles and the best solution for cleaning them is using bleach. Firstly, I get that crinkly nose “ugh” look when I think about using bleach for cleaning out my water bottles. Secondly, that doesn’t solve my discoloration problem. Aargh. This frustrates me to no end because I rely on Google to solve the vast majority of my problems. No, really. I Google almost everything. Call it a compulsion, a quest for knowledge, undying curiosity, or just a weird “quirk”. It’s what I do. Just when I thought there was no answer in sight —–>> Google to the rescue! (in a roundabout sort of way). I was Googling (as usual) on how to clean an oddly shaped vase. It’s an old carnival glass vase that’s shaped like the “I Dream of Jeannie” bottle. So I can’t fit my hand down in there and the baby bottle brush can clean the neck, but how in the heck do I get the bottom clean?!? The answer is vinegar and rice. You plop those two down in there, cover the top, and shake it like you’re mixing up a batch of margaritas! So I’m totally amazed that the bottom of my vase is clean. Now I get the shifty eye. My eyes dart to the clean vase on the left side of the sink and then to the cloudy, icky water bottle in the dish drainer on the right side of the sink. Back to the left. Then to the right. Left. Right. *IDEA!* And after a little elbow grease…..*SWEET SUCCESS*. I use them not only for my personal hydration, but for keeping homemade marinades and sauces so I love that I can keep my bottles longer and longer without them looking icky. Check the befores and afters!! Happy Cleaning y’all!

What is this?!? Ugh....

Ok. I know in my cranium that it's clean but when I see this all I can think is, "I was drinking from this bottle?!?"

This is soooo much better!

I can actually see through the bottom! Sweet!
